Bainloch Deer Park 'It is well worth the fee to be driven in a 4x4 and have the deer come and feed from your hand. It was a fantastic experience' (July 15)

Cream of Galloway – fantastic ice-cream with a visitor centre geared to young children. They also have an enclosed dog walk in a 7 acre woodland where your dog can run free.
The Dark Space Planetarium in Kirkudbright
Dino Park - recommended by visitors to Kirkennan for 'anyone with little ones'.

Enerspie Farm just outside Castle Douglas has indoor soft play areas open all year and outdoor attractions open seasonally. It also has a good cafe, shop and plant sales.

Galloway Astronomy Centre 'Great food and an evening of astronomy - worth the drive!' (July 2017)

Mabie Farm Park 25 min drive away 'Is a must. Lots for children to do. You can also feed the animals and there is a petting corner and the staff are so nice.' (May 2019)
