The Mews is the smallest of our 3 holiday cottages at Kirkennan and sleeps 4 + 1 in 2 bedrooms. It is part of the former stable block and at one time formed the Office for Kirkennan Estate. It provides a cozy cottage for your holiday with views over Kirkennan's lanscaped gardens where red squirrels can sometimes be seen. It is conveniently located a few minutes drive from Kippford, Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland near the Solway Coast.

On the ground floor The Mews holiday cottage has a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a shower-room with toilet. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with a King sized bed (5 ft wide) and 1 twin bedroom that has plenty of room for a third fold-out bed on request. There is also a bathroom with toilet (shower over bath). There is an outside area in front of the holiday cottage with furniture (not-enclosed). Private parking for up to 2 cars. There are lockable under cover bike racks availble for use by guests in The Mews in the barn with power points for E-bikes and a bike repair kit. Free wifi / internet. Electric car / EV charge point (Type 2).

The holiday cottage has a wood burning stove in the living room (initial fuel included). Central heating and hot water run from a district heating biomass boiler system and the cost is included. Electricity, bed linen and towels are also included. Freeview TV. Radio with i-pod dock. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. BBQ. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Washing machine. Cot and highchair can be provided on request. No smoking inside.
Guests have access to Kirkennan's shared 35-acre natural and wooded grounds and table tennis table in walled garden.
NB: small stream in Estate grounds, 100 yards and tidal river along border of wood and fields.
